Speculator Homes in the Adirondacks

Speculator is a great place to buy a house and make it your home.

Speculator Village is on scenic Lake Pleasant, surrounded by mountains, and is home to great ice fishing and snowmobiling on hundreds of miles of trails, as well as xc skiing and skating. It is at 1800' above sea level. It is the only real village in Hamilton County. It is a great place for a second home or even a primary residence. It isn't too far from the cities out of the park like Amsterdam or Gloversville yet it is so green and wild. While the stores are small and not chain, there is a super market, department store, a convenince store and several restaurants open year round in the village. There is even a downhill ski area.

Lake Pleasant Lake is fed by the Sacandaga River. The lake is three miles long and two miles wide at a level of 1724 feet above sea level. The state stocks fish in it each spring. There is also Lake Lewey in the northern part of the village along Route 30. That lake is about 10 miles north on Route 30.
